Since 2020 we’ve been an Official Partner of AFC Bournemouth. This partnership opens up opportunities for us to create smiles within the community and to share goodwill where we can.

We’ve been running competitions on our social media all year, as well as running initiatives to help the wider community. Below are just some of our favourites.

We gave a Junior Cherry the chance to meet his hero

We partnered with AFC Bournemouth to give one lucky Junior Cherry the chance to win an unforgettable experience. Junior Cherry members were encouraged to write a letter to AFCB to say what they are most excited for in the season ahead. Those who entered had the chance to win a visit to the Vitality Stadium, a signed 2022/23 training top, as well as having their letter featured in the AFCB matchday programme.

After reading all 47 entries, MSP and AFCB decided George’s was the winning letter!

In his letter he mentioned that Dom Solanke was one of his favourite players from the men’s team. Knowing this, MSP Capital and AFCB organised an extra special surprise. Luckily, the moment George met his hero was all caught on film.

Giving football boots a new lease of life

Earlier in the year we began our “Bring Your Boots” initiative to help make sure that football boots were not just thrown away, but given a new lease of life with someone who wasn’t able to get a brand new pair for themselves.

Overall, 250 pairs of boots were recycled back into community programmes, with individuals from the following projects benefitting:

  • Bounce Back – h Housing association project for adults.
  • Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) – School holiday courses for children on free school meals.
  • EmployAble – Employability project for adults aged 18-30.

A gathering of Superfans

In the Summer, we went on the hunt for the biggest AFCB Superfans out there. We received so many amazing entries with people writing poems, recording videos and even singing us a song. In the end we had three finalists: Louise, Shiv and Eddie. Twitter fans were asked to choose the overall winner, with Louise being chosen with her best friend Leanne.

As a prize we gifted them, and three other competition winners, an exclusive hospitality package for the last game of the 2021/22 season. It was such a fantastic day and the table was buzzing with AFC Bournemouth fans sharing their stories and memories about AFCB.

Yet to come, gifting a December to Remember

Just before Christmas 2022, we once again partnered with AFC Bournemouth to bring some festive cheer to someone who could do with a bit of support at this time of year.

We ran a competition on our social channels asking for people to nominate someone who deserves a special treat this year for what they’ve done or a challenge that they have met in 2022.

The two chosen winners will be getting a day to remember at the Vitality Stadium just before Christmas. We will be sharing the winner’s special day on the 23rd December on our social channels – just in time for Christmas.
