MSP Capital’s long-standing partnership with local club AFC Bournemouth has been nominated for a Football Business Award.

Our partnership with the club has been shortlisted for Sponsorship/Partnership of the Year for the way our relationship with the club benefits our shared community.
As well as being the club’s official training wear partner and sleeve partner of the women’s team, we work closely with the Cherries on a series of local campaigns under our ESG (environmental, social and governance) policy.

MSP Capital is unique in the property finance industry in sponsoring a Premier League club and investing in such a multifaceted community partnership.

Last season we supported the club’s Bring Your Boots initiative

To enable more disadvantaged football players in the community to take part in the sport.
Supporters donated more than 1,000 pairs of pre-loved boots or trainers, benefitting families across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, as well as Ukraine.
We also contribute to once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for supporters to meet players.
At the start of the current season we invited members of the official young supporters’ group, the Junior Cherries, to write to the club and give their thoughts on the 2022/23 season.

Our focus on social responsibilities – our commitment to communities, clients and staff – also formed a key part of the nomination.

The winner, six-year-old George Murphy, enjoyed a tour of Vitality Stadium in the company of forward Dominic Solanke.
Dominic was also involved in our Christmas competition with the club. He was joined by goalkeeper Mark Travers to surprise two deserving supporters, Ben and Coby, who were nominated by loved ones having experienced hardship throughout 2022 and were given a number of presents by the Cherries pair.
We have also helped to buy a potentially life-saving defibrillator for the Cherries’ Community Sports Trust and run a series of kit giveaways, bringing smiles to school pupils and members of youth teams.
Most recently our partnership has focused on helping primary school children in Dorset learn the importance of good health and wellbeing. Working again with the community trust, we are helping to deliver vital workshops under a campaign called Healthy Lifestyles.

More than 2,250 children are set to benefit from lessons on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise, hydration levels and the value of sleep.
Adam Tovey, Valuation Director at MSP Capital, said: “We’ve always seen our partnership with AFC Bournemouth as a way to not only support our local team but the local community as well.
“We share the club’s passion for social responsibility and so we actively leverage our relationship to help the communities where, together, we are established.
“It is brilliant that our partnership has been recognised with a place on the shortlist of the Football Business Awards.”
Rob Mitchell, Commercial Director at AFC Bournemouth, said: “MSP Capital have been valued partners over recent seasons and we’ve enjoyed their passion for the football club as well as their support for the local community.

“The nomination is testament to the work that has been done at both organisations, with thousands of people in and around Bournemouth benefitting from the various campaigns and community projects.”
Sponsorship/Partnership of the Year is one of 18 categories at this year’s Football Business Awards.
As well as AFC Bournemouth, major clubs nominated for awards include Brighton & Hove Albion, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
Finalists from outside England include EE, Scottish clubs Hibernian, Rangers and St Mirren, and Cypriot side Pafos.
The awards are being held on 26th May at The Brewery in London with winners selected by a panel of judges comprised of football experts.
Separate to our sponsorship activities with AFC Bournemouth, MSP Capital is an official partner of AFC Business, the Cherries’ popular business club.
