We are pleased to reveal the ongoing success of the ‘Bring Your Boots’ campaign, which launched in March 2022.

As principal partners of AFC Bournemouth we collaborated on the initiative with Vitality, which allows for fans to donate old football boots or trainers.

The footwear is then distributed back into the local community through the club’s Community Sports Trust, with hundreds of boots and trainers donated by supporters since the launch.

Fans have donated their used items via the club Superstore, where a bin is permanently placed, while there’s also a drop-off area outside the Junior Fanzone on a matchday.

The boots that have currently been donated have already been recycled back into community programmes, with individuals from the following projects benefitting so far:

  • Bounce Back – h Housing association project for adults.
  • Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) – School holiday courses for children on free school meals.
  • EmployAble – Employability project for adults aged 18-30.

Individual families that are known to Community Sports Trust staff from previous projects have also benefitted from the ‘Bring Your Boots’ campaign.

James Hill is the player ambassador and has already played his part in donating boots, but we’re asking you to do the same!

Next time you’re visiting Vitality Stadium, make sure you bring your old boots or trainers and recycle them back into the local community.

Paul Miracca, Director at MSP Capital, said:

This campaign brings home to us the simple things we can do to help people stay active and be included.

AFC Bournemouth are a fantastic community club with many of these initiatives benefiting the wider community which we are proud to be a part of.
