Finance Assistant

Role Summary

We’re looking for a confident and detail-oriented individual at the early stages of their financial career to join a fun and fast-paced finance team based in Poole, Dorset. The role itself will provide essential support to the Finance team and the rest of the business and in return receive plenty of development and training opportunities to further your experience and skills.

What you'll do

• Produce vital company documents: Assist in the production of month-end reports, Board Pack preparations and the Quarterly and Annual Audits.
• Manage financial inputting: Post purchase invoices, credit card transactions and employee expenses to the correct ledgers, ensuring each is correctly approved.
• Support lending decision making: Liaising with the KYC department to complete Company Financial Analysis to aid in Compliance decision-making.
• Financial Analysis: Monthly analysis of fee income lines and overheads to identify trends and comparison to budget to be reported to the wider team.
• Administrative duties: Be responsible for certain administrative duties including Central Filing and be prepared to undertake ad hoc numerical tasks relating to any area of the business.
• Supporting our client interactions: Processing customer card payments and review client interest statements.

Who we’re looking for

• Be numerate, comfortable working with numbers, and with a meticulous attention to detail and enthusiasm for data accuracy.
• Previous experience and AAT qualified with intended progression or already started to CIMA / ACCA.
• Be positive and hard-working, prepared to get stuck in and get things done, and able to work independently and as part of a team; a natural problem-solver.
• Have good organisational and time management skills, using a proactive attitude to complete work in an accurate and timely manner, while managing and prioritising activities in order to achieve this.
• Be calm and responsive, able to deal flexibly with peaks and troughs in workload or unexpected requests and able to re-prioritise workload accordingly.
• Be a strong communicator both verbally and in your written communications.
• Enjoy building good relationships with your colleagues. Everyone sees you as a great team player.
• Be proficient in the use of a computer, being comfortable using Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel).
• Be keen to learn, always looking to review your performance and identify and implement opportunities to improve.
• Experience with NetSuite desirable but not essential.
